E-LEARNING

1up.ca has provided art direction and production to SCI-U [Spinal Cord Injury University) since 2009. The 10 course program featuring over 12 hours of multimedia content is designed for recent victims of spinal cord injury, health care professionals as well as friends and family of those affected.

1up.ca demonstrates its competitive edge by producing effective learning strategies throughout the massive amount of content. We use Articulate software to publish these e-learning courses in Flash. For those on an iOS or without Flash, non interactive YouTube playlists feature the main content in a video format. The courses are all online here and are free to anyone around the world.

Animated Infographics

The need for detailed figures that explain body systems and how they are changed by a spinal cord injury was critical. Through a team of animators and some assistance from medical professionals, a selection of animations were created featuring catheter instructions, bladder and bowel care directions, a guide on wheelchair maneuvers up and down escalators and various other body systems diagrams and images.

Library of Icons

A vast library of nearly 1000 icons was illustrated. No concept was deemed too difficult to convey visually in the production. It proved vastly more efficient in terms of wayfinding, reinforcement of concepts and even assisted with visual memory triggers in the quizzes.
